How to Search Inside Affinity Files on Mac
A client asks for the poster with the orange diving board. You can picture the blue pool and remember the words Night Swim across the top. But the folder contains Poster_v3.afdesign, Poster_v4.afdesign, and Untitled.afdesign. Which one did you send?
With Fenn, you can search for Night Swim across your Affinity files on your Mac. If the image is the part you remember, try orange diving board and check the matching previews. Either search gives you a way back to the original design without opening each version in Affinity.
Which Affinity files can you search?
Fenn supports Affinity documents (.af), Designer files (.afdesign), Photo files (.afphoto), Publisher documents (.afpub), and templates (.aftemplate). You can index these files directly, so there’s no need to export a PDF or PNG first. Fenn’s supported file types

How to search across your Affinity projects
In Fenn, open Settings → Sources → Folders and add the folder where you keep your Affinity projects.
Under Sources → File Types, enable Affinity and select the extensions you use.
For visual search, choose Balanced or Best Quality under Settings → Search & AI → Indexing mode.
Click Run Index. If you’ve indexed other files before, choose Index new files. Once indexing finishes, search for a phrase or visual detail from a design. Folder setup · Indexing modes
Can you find a design by what it says or shows?
Search for wording when you remember a distinctive phrase. If Night Swim is saved as editable text in the poster, Fenn can find those words inside Poster_v4.afdesign. The same works for a product name in a Publisher brochure or a tagline in a Designer file.
Search for a visual detail when several versions share the same wording. Perhaps every poster says Night Swim, but only one shows the orange diving board. Fenn can match a description against saved previews and readable embedded images. What you can find visually depends on what the document contains.

Can you search private client work offline?
Yes. Fenn indexes your designs on your Mac and uses local AI by default. Once the files and required models are on your Mac, local search works offline. Sending relevant content to a cloud AI provider requires you to explicitly select that provider. How Fenn handles privacy
To try it, pick one old client folder and search for a line of copy you still remember. Try Fenn for Mac
