1. Introduction
Your privacy is important to us. It is the policy of MY LITTLE PLANET to respect your privacy and comply with any applicable law and regulation, including the GDPR, regarding any personal information we may collect about you through our macOS application, Fenn, which is edited and developed by us.
Personal information is any information about you which can be used to identify you. For an application like Fenn, this is especially important as it can include the contents of your personal files, your payment details, and information about how you use our application and website.
In the event our site or application contains links to third-party sites and services (such as our payment processor, Lemon Squeezy), please be aware that those sites and services have their own privacy policies. After following a link to any third-party content, you should read their posted privacy policy information about how they collect and use personal information. This Privacy Policy does not apply to any of your activities after you leave our site.
This policy is effective as of February 1st 2025.

3. Core Principles: Local vs. Cloud Indexing
Fenn is designed with a "privacy-first" architecture. You have a fundamental choice in how your data is processed.
A. Local Indexing
When you use Fenn’s Local Indexing feature, all processing occurs directly on your device. Your files, documents, media, and the search index generated from them never leave your Mac. The AI models required for indexing are downloaded to your machine, allowing the entire process to run offline. We do not have access to, nor do we collect, any of the files you choose to index locally.
B. Cloud Indexing
To provide the Cloud Indexing feature, which offloads intensive processing from your Mac, the files you select are temporarily transferred to our secure cloud servers. We understand the sensitivity of this process and commit to the following safeguards:
Encryption: Your data is encrypted both in transit (using TLS/SSL) and at rest on our secure servers.
Purpose Limitation: We use this data solely for the purpose of creating your personal search index and providing the Fenn service to you.
No AI Model Training: We will never use your data to train our own or any third-party AI models.
No Data Selling: We will never sell, rent, or share your personal files or data with third parties.
4. Information We Collect
We collect minimal information necessary to provide and improve our service:
Files for Cloud Indexing: If you opt to use the Cloud Indexing feature, we temporarily process the files you submit.
Payment Information: When you purchase a license for Fenn, your payment is processed by our third-party merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy. We do not collect or store your full credit card details. We only receive basic transaction confirmation and the email address associated with the purchase. You can review their privacy policy at lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.
Contact Information: Your email address, should you contact us for customer support or subscribe to our newsletter.
5. Data Retention
For data processed via Cloud Indexing, your files are stored securely on our servers for a maximum of 30 days. This retention period allows for the successful completion of the indexing process and enables us to provide technical support if needed. After this period, the files are permanently deleted from our servers.
6. Your Rights Under GDPR
As we are a company based in France, you have rights over your personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). These rights include:
The right to access: You can request a copy of the information we hold about you.
The right to rectification: You can request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete information.
The right to erasure ("right to be forgotten"): You can request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain legal limitations.
The right to restrict processing: You can request that we limit the use of your personal data.
The right to data portability: You can request to receive your data in a machine-readable format.
The right to object: You can object to us processing your personal data.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at contact@mylittleplan.net. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, such as the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL).
7. Data Security
We implement robust technical and organizational security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes the encryption standards mentioned above for our Cloud Indexing feature.
8. Children's Privacy
Fenn is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on our website or through the application. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
