Agentic file search on Mac, private and on device
We are excited to share what we believe is the first Agentic file search for Mac that runs entirely on your machine. No cloud by default. No data sharing. You ask in natural language, Fenn understands the request, searches your files, analyzes candidates, verifies that they match, then returns results you can trust.
Requirement: Agentic Search needs a Mac with at least 32 GB of RAM. If you have 16 GB and want access, email contact@mylittleplan.net so we can talk through options.
What is Agentic Search
Agentic Search is a AI agent that works inside Fenn. It turns your plain sentence into a plan, find files, read them, check your conditions, and show only verified matches. Everything runs on device by default for privacy.
Why this matters
You think in questions, not in filename patterns.
You need precision, open at the page, slide, frame, or timestamp that matters.
You handle confidential material, so keeping data on your Mac is essential.
Real world examples you can try, in any language
“Find all my restaurant invoices under 50 USD, from January 1 to June 30, 2025.”
“Show slide decks that mention Series B and unit economics, created last quarter.”
“Find every contract with a force majeure clause, updated after January 2023.”
“Find screenshots that include the text Checkout, inside the iOS app folder.”
“Find meeting recordings where latency budget is mentioned, return the timestamps.”
“Find photos that contain our CEO, from Q4 2024 to Q1 2025.”
“Find invoices that reference Acme Catering, amount between 200 and 400, saved this year.”
“Find Excel files that mention ARR and renewal, edited in the last 90 days.”
“Trouve mes factures de déjeuner sous 30 EUR, mars à mai 2025, et exclure les brouillons.”
“Encuentra las notas que contienen ensayo clínico y cambio de protocolo, últimos 6 meses.”
How it works
You type a natural language request in Fenn.
The agent turns your request into steps, search, filter, verify.
Fenn searches your indexed sources, PDFs, Office files, images and screenshots, audio and video.
The agent opens likely files, reads their content, and verifies your conditions.
You see verified results with contextual snippets.
Open any result and land on the exact page, slide, frame, or timestamp.

Select the Agent mode from the search bar

Tap the search you want

The AI agent returns only verified result
Tips for great queries
Be explicit with dates, “from Jan 1 to Jun 30, 2025.”
Add numeric conditions, “under 50 USD” or “between 200 and 400.”
Name file types when helpful, “PDFs,” “slide decks,” “screenshots,” “recordings.”, "documents"
Use include and exclude wording, “include unit economics, exclude draft.”
Ask in your language. Fenn understands natural language across many languages.
Setup
Update to the latest Fenn on your Apple Silicon Mac.
Add sources to index, your work folders and app libraries.
Let indexing run on device.
Open Fenn, choose Agentic Search.
Ask in natural language and review the verified results.
Privacy by design
Agentic Search runs on your Mac by default.
Your files and representations stay local.
You control sources and deletion. Your data does not need to leave your device.
Mini case
An accountant needs every restaurant expense under 50 USD for a quarter. They ask, “restaurant invoices under 50 USD from Jan 1 to Mar 31, 2025.” Fenn finds PDFs and scanned receipts, reads each one, checks vendor and amount, and returns only the ones that match. The accountant exports the verified list and opens each PDF at the correct page to confirm. Ten minutes, done, with all data kept on device.
